You are facing a hard problem that many people your age face, but you should do whatever YOU want to do because you are the only person who decides what you do. If you think that if you say no your girlfriend will dump you that just shows that she does not care about your feelings enough to wait. It is a sign of emotional blackmail.

If your friends are teasing you about being a virgin, don’t worry, they are probably lying about have sex. Being a virgin is nothing to be embarrassed about!

Viniette 5

On my way to school many things have not been notice but one thing that has never failed to draw my attention is the little old man that lives in a crumbled old tent on the road to Vasant Vihar. It is not as much of a tent as it is a shack with unparallel walls and garbage bags for a roof.

The man seems to never show any emotion, as if he is staring into a television blankly. And for a reason that I haven’t found yet, he is always sitting outside his tent with a white robe that you might mistake as a brown one if you didn’t pay enough attention.

Viniette 4

A block market has helped me time and time again. It always has what you need and it never disappoints you; it has colors for Holi, fire crackers for Dawali, and everyday things like construction paper and food. For example; when I have a project but forget construction paper at school, A block has what I need. It has been a part of several different memories I’ve had in India.

This was the market where I got blinding colors for Holi, the booming fire crackers for Dawali, and my everyday junk food, but most importantly it is a place that holds a bunch of my fabulous memories!

Viniette 3

It was five pm and I didn’t have a ride home because my mom was using my car. So I started looking for a ride but nobody I asked lived in my neighborhood then, just before I lost hope I remembered that Jiggy did lived in my direction but he ended up have to run errands so I was back to square one. About 20 minutes later another friend of mine was willing to split a cab with me so we did.

We decided to drop me off first so we turned to F block but as we did out of the corner of my eye I saw Jiggy on his way home who supposedly had to run errands.

Write up for poster

The theme I chose to put on my poster was power corrupts because I feel that it is one of the most important themes of the book. What it means is that when someone or a group of people get too much power it can corrupts them, in other words it can bring out the bad in them. The way I saw this in the book was that once Snowball was thrown out of the farm Napoleon knew he had full control and power so he started to use his power for his own good without thinking of what was best for the farm.

In my poster I have drawings of three arms and they show that as Napoleon got power he drifted from a comrade to a ruler (and a bad one at that), and in the last drawing he is holding a whip to show that he has complete power and that he is using force to contain his farm. My first quote shows that the power the pigs were given made them alter or change the 7 commandments for their own benefit, this shows corruption. The second quote shows that Napoleon is being corrupt by taking the sugar (that was originally against the 7 commandments) and keeping it for himself and putting himself before others needs. The last quote talks about how Napoleon was enjoying a game of cards with his neighboring farmers (a human activity) and it shows he is socializing with humans which is against the original commandments.

Vietnam script

Welcome, I’m Philippe Griffiths reporting to you live from the capital of Vietnam. There have been many effects in the Vietnam War, some specific numbers were 58,000 US soldiers died and 304,000 wounded, and on the Vietnam side there was 3 to 4 million soldiers dead. Besides deaths, the War affected a lot of other things. A lot of emotion was stirred on the American side because it was the first time America as a whole had ever lost a war. This lead to a harsh welcoming for the surviving troops that came back to America. Besides that President Johnson lied about things he had done in Vietnam so he lost his trust and did not run for reelection. And people doubted American power and credibility. But when Vietnam was in civil war President John F. Kennedy gave military support as well as economic support to south Vietnam to stop communism from spreading to it. Now we go to Hanna Yin in Delhi giving us the timeline of the war.

The Vietnam War was mainly caused by the United States wanting to stop the spread of communism across the world, and to do this they started with Vietnam. They thought that if one was to fall to communism the surrounding states would fall to communism as well. This is called the domino theory. They did this so that they could stop the shrinkage of the free world to help capitalism stay alive. Many capitalist countries used this as an excuse for being involved in Southeast Asia. So the United States were afraid of the idea of communism being spread across the world so they took action in trying to stop the spread of it.

Thank you and good bye we will see you next time on History’s conflicts.

collage for health

I put five parts of my identity on the collage. One being that I have the word Virginia on the upper left hand corner of my collage. Another one being that there is a basketball showing that basketball is a big part of my life. The third one is big east written across the bottom meaning I’m from the east side of the US. I also have an American penny symbolizing that I am, again, from the US. The green instant fresh picture shows that I have an original personality.

Creativity is one of my most important values, that is why I put the picture that says it’s the “steak” of all chicken, meaning that I am creative in the way I think and I stand out. One more of my important values is respect, and the way I showed that was by putting a watch in the middle of my collage (to show it as being the most important) to show that I try to be on time. Sports was my third important value so for that a put a sign that said lets get physical to show that life is dull without sports. On the bottom left corner I has a piece that says the picture is only half the story and this symbolizes not judging people and getting the know them (being a friend). And on the bottom right hand corner there are headphones and music has been around and popular in my family so I grew up with it being important to me.

The penny shows that I want to succeed in life and get wealthy enough so I don’t have to worry about economic problems. On the bottom right hand corner on top of the headphones is a Hyundai picture (its ripped in half because my family used to have one and it crashed) because when I get wealthier I would like to own my own car, perhaps a Hyundai. All away on the left side there is a big Tabasco bottle and that shows that one of my goals is to stay original and not loose my uniqueness. Another thing that shows that is the instant fresh picture. Next to the Tabasco there is a picture of a toothbrush, this shows that my teeth are very important to me and that I care about keeping them nice. I also have hope written in big across the top of my poster to show that I hope that I can achieve these goals successfully.

One of my strengths and my favorite talent is basketball, and it is shown twice on the collage to emphasize it. Behind the word Virginia there is a ball with basketball football and baseball all in one, this shows my love for each of these sports. One more of my strengths is school, and to show that I put the words so far…so great in the right hand corner to show that I am doing steady. If eating was to be called a talent that would be number one on my list, if not a talent it is at least a great hobby. I put a phone and the word Sony to show that I am good with technology. I also put the phone there to say that I am a friendly person that talks to people a lot.

Basketball once again, is a great way for me to manage stress! Another one is to relax, sit back on my bed and listen to music and for that I showed an ipod. Showering and standing under hot water also relieves some stress for me, to show that I put deodorant to show cleanliness. Fantasizing is one of my strange ways to get rid of stress, that’s why I have fantasy written across the collage. But after using all of these positive relieves above I have to admit that I have an unhealthy stress reliever and that would be eating (not too much) junk food. All in all; this poster fully describes my basics.

Bhopal first draft of slides

LEGAL AFFECTS

  • Union Carbine paid $470 million (under needed amount)
  • This left the victims with 7 cents a day (enough to buy one cup of tea)
  • Few workers were sent from Carbine to help and clean up waste (but not enough)
  • CEO of carbine is known as a fugitive from justice in Indian court
WHAT WERE THE CAUSES
  • Union Carbide left tons of chemical wastes behind.
  • Leaving poisoned groundwater that the Bhopal residents had to live with.
  • A tank of methyl isocyanate (highly reactive) leaked.
  • Water entered the tank and an exothermic chemical reaction started so heat was produced
  • In result the tank burst and 20 to 30 tons of methyl isocyanate leaked in an hour before being noticed.
