The theme I chose to put on my poster was power corrupts because I feel that it is one of the most important themes of the book. What it means is that when someone or a group of people get too much power it can corrupts them, in other words it can bring out the bad in them. The way I saw this in the book was that once Snowball was thrown out of the farm Napoleon knew he had full control and power so he started to use his power for his own good without thinking of what was best for the farm.
In my poster I have drawings of three arms and they show that as Napoleon got power he drifted from a comrade to a ruler (and a bad one at that), and in the last drawing he is holding a whip to show that he has complete power and that he is using force to contain his farm. My first quote shows that the power the pigs were given made them alter or change the 7 commandments for their own benefit, this shows corruption. The second quote shows that Napoleon is being corrupt by taking the sugar (that was originally against the 7 commandments) and keeping it for himself and putting himself before others needs. The last quote talks about how Napoleon was enjoying a game of cards with his neighboring farmers (a human activity) and it shows he is socializing with humans which is against the original commandments.
